As a casual and friendly neighborhood bistro, Senhor Uva serves creative seasonal tapas and terroir-driven natural wines. Their vegetarian-based menu includes plenty of vegan (dairy-free) options made from the best seasonal, organic and local ingredients available in Lisbon.
And despite their unassuming atmosphere, Senhor Uva delivered on bold and exciting flavors and interesting dairy-free dishes.

Leonetta
Serving rich pastas in a cozy gallery-style dining room, Leonetta is one of my top picks for dairy-free Italian fare in Lisbon.
Inherently friendly to those with dietary-restrictions, Leonetta’s menu includes vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and nut-free indicators next to each dish. I was blown away by the welcoming staff as well, who were able to let me know some additional menu items that were or could be made dairy-free.
Never one to resist a creative-sounding dish or dairy-free cheeses, I ended up ordering the Pink Beetroot Gnocchi which came with a few small blocks of vegan feta. It was heaven. My only wish was that I had stayed in Lisbon longer to try some of their other amazing pastas.
Neighborhood: Barrio Alto
What I Ordered: Pink Beetroot Gnocchi

Lupita
If you’re searching for a restaurant where all the cool kids go, Lupita is for you. A small pizzeria located near Lisbon’s famous pink street, Lupita serves a thoughtfully curated selection of pies and natural wines.
While most of their menu items are not actually dairy-free, Lupita’s vegan pizza is so wonderful, it landed the restaurant a firm spot on my list. I ordered my pizza with bacon and it did not disappoint! The combination of caramelized onions, mushrooms, lemon zest and walnut & raisin vinaigrette were phenomenal.
Neighborhood: Cais do Sodré
What I Ordered: Vegan Pizza with Bacon

Organi
Neighborhood: Chiado
What I Would Order, if available: Lasagna, Vegetable Salad with Quinoa, Wild-Berries Cheesecake
Focused on healthy and natural dishes, Organi is a vegan, and intrinsically dairy-free, cafe. It’s one of the best spots in town for fresh, unprocessed food as the restaurant doesn’t even use a microwave!
Organi’s menu varies daily, depending on the time of year and the products and ingredients available at the moment.

Manjerica
Neighborhood: Baixa
What I Ordered: Portugal Burger and Pastel De Nata
Another vegetarian eatery, Manjerica is a relaxed daytime restaurant serving creative dishes for breakfast & lunch.
I stumbled into Manjerica on my last day in Lisbon and was pleasantly surprised by their selection and how allergy-friendly their menu was. Not only did they have vegan and dairy-free options marked, but the menu also had callouts for items containing eggs and/or gluten.
I ended up ordering the Portugal Burger, but would easily dine at Manjerica again if only to try their dairy-free Risotto and Portuguese toasts!

Dahlia
Neighborhood: Cais de Sodré
What I Ordered**: Charred broccolini with chickpea cream, sesame and home made chili oil, Beef tartare with oyster emulsion and crispy buckwheat.
**Menu changes seasonally
A small restaurant-bar near the Time Out Market, Dahlia serves fun beats, seasonal tapas and natural wine. Credited as a listening bar, Dahlia was acoustically-treated and sound proofed before opening a few years ago so that patrons could enjoy their a vast array of records in a high-fidelity setting with great bites.
From a dairy-free perspective, Dahlia’s menu changes by season. While this could be a potential nightmare if you have a restrictive diet, Dahlia always serves up a few dishes that are marked as vegan or available as vegan on their menu.

Praia no Parque
Neighborhood: Azul
What I Would Order: Braised Tuna Loin with Bok Choy, Sautéed Vegetables, Sautéed White Rice with Fresh Herbs
For a fancy sushi or steak dinner, spend the night dining at Praia no Parque. Nestled within Parque Eduardo VII, this restaurant-bar-nightclub transports you from the park to the savannah with its immersive animal decor. With panoramic windows offering breathtaking views of the lake, you’ll savor translucent fish cuts and meticulously crafted sushi, expertly prepared by Chef Lucas Azevedo.
Praia no Parque’s allergen list is also baked into their regular menu, making the ordering experience seamless and easy.

The Green Affair
Neighborhood: Chiado, Saldanha
What I Ordered: Cascais Burger, Side Salad, Pumpkin Cheesecake
Arriving to Lisbon earlier than originally anticipated, I found myself at the Green Affair after receiving a dining recommendation from my hotel, Brown’s Central.
The Green Affair is a smart-casual restaurant in the middle of the tourist-friendly Chiado neighborhood. With a 100% plant-based menu, there are plenty of dairy-free options, but I was most excited for their Cascais burger. With garlic mayonnaise, tomato and a dairy-free cheddar, it was both rich and filling – just without the full-belly guilt that might come with a regular burger.
If you’ve eaten plant-based food before, the Green Affair is definitely a spot I recommend for an easy meal in Lisbon.

Rice ME
Neighborhood: Azul
What I Would Order: Codfish and Pepper Jelly or Chicken Pad Thai
Located in Lisbon’s art deco Azul neighborhood, Rice ME is a restaurant with a diverse range of dishes ranging from chickpeas to pasta, with gluten-free, lactose-free and vegan options.
My favorite thing about Rice ME is that their menu includes a comprehensive allergen list next to every single dish. If you’re traveling with multiple food allergies, Rice ME is an excellent place to eat.

Vegan Nata
Pastel de Nata is a traditional Portuguese egg custard tart and a must-try while visiting Lisbon. While normally not suitable for the allergy-afflicted, there’s a few spots in Lisbon that sell a vegan, and therefore dairy-free, version.
My absolute favorite of these spots is Vegan Nata, in the Chiado neighborhood. Located in an unassuming coffee shop about 5-10 minutes from Carmo Convent, Vegan Nata sells these amazing Portuguese pastries individually, by the half dozen and by the dozen.
Neighborhood: Chiado
What I Order: Pasteis De Nata
