Heimat Review:
A New Transformative Lifestyle Experience in Los Angeles
Named after the German word describing the familiar feeling of where your heart feels at home, Heimat has officially made its own home in the heart of West Hollywood. A luxury concept, five-level fitness club, Heimat offers its members invigorating workouts, radiating spa treatments, nourishing cuisine and a cultivated private community. Here’s all my takeaways from Heimat: A New Transformative Lifestyle Experience in Los Angeles.

Invigorate
At its core, Heimat is about an opulent and invigorating fitness experience. So it’s no surprise that when you walk through the gold automatic lobby doors and into the club, you’re greeted with pristine workout equipment, in many cases featuring gold-painted hardware and/or seating.
Heimat was created by the owner of the global fitness brand, Gold’s Gyms, so knowing that this is a premium wellness club, the gold details felt like a perfect and on-brand touch.
The club has multiple workout areas and studios to fit just about every preference. From a pilates studio to a HIIT bootcamp room and a weightlifting area to a Technogym Kinesis space, the club just about has it all.
My personal favorite room is the spacious pilates studio which had multiple high-end reformers, a built-in “bookshelf” and other beautiful interior design touches sprinkled around the additional pieces of equipment.
And the best part of Heimat’s fitness experience is that all workout classes are included in the monthly membership fee.

Nourish
With a goal to nourish guests via global cuisine and healthy ingredients, Mother Tongue is HEIMAT’s onsite restaurant.
Created by Michelin-starred chef, Michael Mina, and headed by Executive Chef Fernando Darin, the restaurant offers a good brunch and dinner for members and the public alike.
The menu centers around four functional food categories to help guests on their wellness journeys:
- K – Keto-Friendly / Low Glycemic
- P – Plant-Based
- M – Mind / Cognition
- I – Anti-Inflamation
While much of its food is plant-based, Mother Tongue also serves clean items like Hand-Cut Steak Tartare and Roasted Pekin Duck Breast. The Roasted Pekin Duck Breast, in particular, is made with chewy beets and bing cherries; both of which may have health benefits like increased cognitive function (listed under “M” on the menu).

Radiate
For those who want to unwind and feel radiant, Heimat also has an on-site spa. The spa is only available for Heimat members and offers services at lower prices than you’d find at similar wellness and beauty locations around Los Angeles. This means that members are not only getting an additional benefit to their monthly fees, but that they’re also able to do so all from the same spot that they workout.
Spa services include manicures, pedicures, massages and facials. I recently received a Full Body Relaxation Massage from Heimat’s on-site spa and left feeling completely at-ease, especially knowing that I could’ve easily paid double the cost at a similar spa around town.
In addition to the spa services, the added tranquility and opulence continue into Heimat’s locker rooms which feature marble floors, artistic details and Dyson hair dryers. And what’s more, the locker rooms give way to a salt sauna and relaxation room for those who want to enjoy the facilities a bit longer.
Heading upstairs, you’ll find the crown jewel of Heimat’s radiate philosophy: their large rooftop pool and jacuzzi. Located just outside Mother Tongue restaurant, members can soak up some sun while ordering drinks and light bites from the restaurant.

Cultivate
And finally, cultivate. Making up Heimat’s top floor are large co-working and networking spaces. The main co-working area features multiple tables and sofa setups that, like the Mother Tongue restaurant, were designed by Martin Brudnizki.
Since each table has its own set of working outlets, it’s a great spot to post up for the day if you’re looking for a place to get some business done! In my experience visiting alternate co-working spaces, it’s not very common to see outlets at every seating setup so this was a pleasant find!
Outside of the main co-working area, Heimat also has a few private bookable rooms. Walking in, I thought these rooms would be perfect for team brainstorms and working retreats. Each of these spaces also has TVs, which are ideal if you need the room(s) for presentations.
And fully living up to its focus on Cultivating a private community, the Heimat co-working spaces are also used for the club’s member events. Since their recent opening in June 2022, I’ve already attended Heimat’s Grand Opening Party, Christmas Market and New Years Eve Spectacular. Each have been curated with the best entertainment, products and libations in mind for attendees to enjoy.
I’ve been to Heimat again and again since my initial tour and each time I’m still as impressed as the last. Heimat truly makes its wellness club the ideal spot for members to stay, work, rest and play all day.
